Bone Kickers is a new flagship drama for BBC 1, from the writers of ‘Life on Mars’. Set in a fictional archeology lab at Bath University. We created the lab, archive and wet room within a disused telephone exchange just outside bath, filming exteriors at the University and other sites around Bath. Each episode is triggered by a discovery which leads the team to a different period of history, the viewer seeing flashbacks including The Knights Templar, Ancient Babylon, Roman Britain and the tomb of Joan of Arc to mention a few. We have had to find and make ingenious ways to depict these historical flashbacks within a tight budget, also within a small distance around Bath.
